About our Soap Making Class AND Gin Tasting

Our advanced hands on Soap Making Class is held in our 180yo newly renovated servants quarters.
You will learn how to create cold process soap and will take home your own batch of soap that you have created during our 3 hour class.

First, watch a demonstration of our cold process soap making from START to FINISH, then you will make your own.

Learn detailed soap making skills. Including details about oils and butter qualities and which are beneficial in soap making.  How to add essential oils (for scented soap), natural colours (such as clay or charcoal to colour your soap) and botanicals (decorate or add an exfoliating quality to your soap).

About our class:

• Workshop is approx 3 hours
• You will receive a print out with cold process soap recipe, instruction and equipment and tips on where to buy ingredients
• Your hand made batches of soap
• Morning or afternoon tea will be provided and gin tasting
• Ages 14 and up (must be accompanied by an adult)
• Safety Equipment Provided (eye wear, gloves/mask, apron)
• Please wear long sleeves and closed in shoes. (As we will be using caustic soda in the soap making process)

IMPORTANT: Please note, a minimum of 3 students are required for the class to proceed. If class numbers are under 3 students, we will contact any prebooked students to be transferred to another date/class. If students have any preference of other dates, please include them in the customer notes.

Return, Refill, Reuse

At Richmond Botanicals Co. we use amber glass and aluminium bottles for all our body care and candle products, we offer a service to our customers to return and reuse these jars with our refill service. Customers are able to return empty jars to our Richmond store or our Salamanca Market, we will clean, sterilise and refill. This is good for us and good for the environment.
